You don’t need a big milestone to take photos together.

Christin and Ander simply wanted updated photos. So, we spent a July evening at Guana Reserve capturing this season of their relationship.

We started on the boardwalk and made our way toward the dunes. Then, as the sun got lower, we headed to the beach. By the end of the session, they were barefoot and completely in the ocean.

Basically, it felt less like a photoshoot and more like a summer date night.

Couples Photos That Actually Feel Like You

A lot of couples worry that taking professional photos will feel awkward. You might wonder where to stand, what to do with your hands, or whether you’ll know how to pose.

That’s where I come in!

I’ll give you direction throughout your session, so you never have to figure it out on your own. At the same time, I want you to move, laugh, and interact with each other. Christin and Ander walked, twirled, cuddled in the dunes, and played in the waves. All that movement gave us photos that felt natural and fun.

Of course, we’ll still get a few smiling-at-the-camera photos. But I also want to capture the moments that remind you how the evening actually felt.

Why Guana Reserve Is Perfect for a Couples Session

Guana Reserve couples photos give us so much variety in one location.

We can start with the boardwalk and greenery before heading into the dunes. From there, we have the sea oats, open sand, and ocean. That means your gallery can have several different looks without driving to another location.

The light here is also gorgeous around sunset.

For Christin and Ander’s session, the sun gave us the prettiest golden light through the dunes. Christin’s yellow dress caught the ocean breeze and added even more movement to their photos.

Then, we headed straight for the water.

You Don’t Need a Milestone to Take Photos Together

Engagements and anniversaries are great reasons to book a session. But they aren’t the only reasons. Maybe your last professional photos together are from your wedding. Maybe your camera roll has hundreds of selfies, but very few photos you’d actually frame. Or maybe you simply want updated photos together. That’s reason enough.

You can also turn your session into a full date night. Get dressed up, meet me at the beach, and grab dinner or drinks afterward. Most importantly, have fun with it. Christin and Ander certainly did. They kicked off their shoes, walked into the waves, sat at the shoreline, and eventually gave up on staying dry.
