Styled shoots can sometimes be a bit of a crapshoot in terms of how they develop. Sometimes one vendor has a vision for the shoot and they execute that vision to a tee. Other times, that original vision morphs into something entirely different thanks to collaboration with talented vendors with style and design visions of their own. And sometimes, there is no overall concept for a styled shoot, just the knowledge that you want to work with vendors who you trust to create and execute a beautiful concept. And, yes, sometimes styled shoots are a combination of all three – a vision, collaboration, and a desire to work with specific industry professionals. The latter was much the case for Tatiana Sizemore, owner of Simply Charmed Weddings and Events, for her most recent styled shoot at Avonlea Farms.

The Vision for this Styled Shoot

Initially Tatiana reached out to Avonlea, a new venue located in Louisa, VA. After connecting with venue owner, Debbie McDonald, Tatiana was truly inspired by both the spring season and the natural elements peppering the stunning property. Choosing to embrace nature in all her glory, Tatiana selected rich shades of brown, green, ivory, and copper to compliment the Greenhouse at Avonlea. Throwing in loose, relaxed florals from Grey-Sol Designs, flickering candlelight, and whimsical string lights, Tatiana created an upscale, romantic photoshoot that didn’t feel overdone. That’s a tough balance to strike! The overall effect evoked a sense of wonder that comes from both nature and love itself.

The Venue

Avonlea itself is unique in that it offers the only greenhouse venue space in the area that I know of. But what’s even better is that Avonlea has other locations, called “Vignettes” in which to host ceremonies and receptions.

The Florals

The craft that goes in to designing and creating beautiful florals is one I admire greatly. A good florist like Grey-Sol Designs knows how to use their talent to tie all of the details together!

Classic Party Rentals of Virginia provided the linens and rentals. As they so often do, these details helped bring Tatiana’s design vision to life.
