You may not know it, but my dad is a photographer himself and he inspired and encouraged career choice from a young age! With such a strong familial connection to photography, I absolutely love shooting family portraits and immortalizing those beautiful bonds. When I connected with the Donnellys about taking their family photos, I knew that we could make magic together!

With their eldest daughter nearing the end of her high school years, the Donnellys knew how precious it was to capture their time together and the love and joy they have for one another in Richmond, which the girls will forever call home.

“WE HAD SO MUCH FUN! Together and with Emily. We were sad to see our time together expire. It flies when you are having fun. We ALL said something about what a great time it was. This has been a hard year for so many and for so many reasons. I for one, am grateful for all the extra hours that I have been able to spend with my family. The fact that we can go through tough times spending a lot more time together and still genuinely ENJOY one another is so special.”

The family carefully coordinated their outfits for comfort and for personal style, which helped their confidence soar and their personalities shine in these photos. We explored different backdrops to really represent the beauty of Richmond: the quiet peace of the countryside, the vivid cityscapes, the riverscape. It was a day spent well, celebrating both the family and the beautiful city we call home. 

The day was filled with laughter and fun, and it was truly a pleasure to take the time photographing the Donnellys — I look forward to the next opportunity to get them behind my camera lens!
