A Fall Wedding: The Rhoton Wedding at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church

A fall wedding and the classic beauty of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Richmond, VA, set the stage for an unforgettable day. The Rhoton wedding wasn’t just a union of two souls; it was a celebration of love, adventure, and joy.

A Love Story Rooted in Adventure

Carlee and Rob have shared a whirlwind 1.5 years of love and adventure. Their favorite activities—rock climbing, attending live music events, and exploring the outdoors—mirror the energy and connection they bring to their relationship. They even share their life with Moose, an 82-pound English Lab, whose personality lights up their lives.

The most adventurous thing they’ve done together? Becoming PADI certified. Their love for the outdoors and water runs deep, and this certification speaks to their shared adventurous spirit.

Fall Wedding and Intimate Moments

The Rhoton wedding was a feast for the senses, featuring an autumnal color palette of oranges, reds, peaches, yellows, tans, terracotta, dusty blue, and white. These hues added warmth and vibrance to the elegant setting of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.

As the couple exchanged vows at the traditional high altar, the atmosphere was filled with reverence and joy. The ceremony reflected their deep respect for tradition while embracing a sense of ease and fun, the very words they chose to describe their wedding day.

The Bridal Party

Keeping the bridal party small and intimate, Carlee and Rob chose to have just one bridesmaid and one groomsman by their side. This simplicity added a personal touch to the day, focusing all attention on their love story.

Capturing the Day Through a Photographer’s Lens

Carlee & Rob’s preference for candid, natural moments meant a lot to us at EmmiClaire Photography. While traditional posed shots were reserved for family, the rest of the day was all about capturing genuine emotion, laughter, and love.

Key moments included:

  • The couple’s first kiss at the altar.
  • Their laughter during the toasts.
  • Beautiful fall newlywed portraits
  • The beautiful autumn-inspired details, from floral arrangements to decor.
  • Celebrating with family and friends

A Venue That Speaks to Tradition

St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church provided the perfect backdrop for the couple’s traditional ceremony. The church’s high altar, intricate architecture, and timeless charm highlighted the importance of their commitment to one another.

For couples considering a similar venue, the beauty of St. Stephen’s lies in its versatility. It offers a sense of history and grandeur while allowing for personal touches that make each wedding unique.

Fall-Inspired Details That Made the Day Shine

The Rhoton wedding beautifully embraced the spirit of autumn.

If you’re planning a fall wedding, consider incorporating these details:

  • Seasonal blooms like dahlias and chrysanthemums.
  • Warm-toned decor pieces like terracotta vases or pumpkin accents.
  • A mix of textures, such as velvet table runners or wooden accents.

At EmmiClaire Photography, we feel honored to capture such cherished memories. If you’re planning your wedding and looking for a photographer who will bring your vision to life, we’d love to hear from you! Explore our portfolio and wedding packages to find the perfect fit for your big day!
